The carbonNZero programme has been developed by Landcare Research with support from a range of individuals and organisations.

The household and school calculators are based on research undertaken by Tui Elliott through a Royal Society of New Zealand Science, Mathematics and Technology Teacher Fellowship, hosted by Landcare Research. Co-hosts were the International Global Change Institute of University of Waikato and the United Nations Environment Programme’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, Bangkok.

Some of the emissions reduction guidance was developed in collaboration with the Building Research Association of New Zealand (BRANZ).

The travel and tourism calculator is based on research undertaken by Dr Susanne Becken in collaboration with Lincoln University.
